BIOGRAPHY

Born in Morelia, Mexico, Jorge Nambo Palmeño or “Nambo '' has lived through several cultural changes throughout his life. One of the earliest memories was at nine years old when his family decided to take a leap of faith by moving to an entirely foreign country: The United States. He found himself in an immense shock knowing he would have to learn everything from the start and not be able to communicate with words but with drawings instead.
 

Through his education and after-school programs, Jorge worked in  developing his own voice by creating cartoon illustrations and studying the occasional step-by-step art book. Being able to relate with others through his favorite images has bridged the gap when words themselves are simply not enough. He knew then that this is what he was meant to do in his life’s journey. Making sure to stay true to oneself and making his mark recognizable and authentic continues to be the motivating factor behind each of his paintings.
 

Jorge loves to share who he is and has always been about positive encouragement to those trying to better themselves in this world. To this day he is thankful for all the lessons he’s been taught by family, friends, co-workers, and clients. He tries to highlight the importance of each interaction and continues to grow with those who continue to support him along his artistic journey.
 

​He looks forward to creating more memories in Chicago with his partner Kristin, being one of his main supporters of the passion behind his artwork. Any journey taken in this world has and will always be better when you have a community that allows this freedom of expression.
